Moment of one second

Moment of one second

Yasuo Kiyonaga's work is based on cubism and surrealism through the abstraction of phenomena. He interprets all things in nature, including mountain villages, cities, and people, in a surrealistic way, deconstructing the subjects captured through my viewfinder to give them new forms and meanings. I aim to create a method of expression that is not limited to the concept of "photography".
They say that what we perceive as “now” actually occurred 0.5 seconds ago. So, the scene I’m currently viewing also happened slightly in the past. By capturing this scene with a shutter speed of one second, I accumulated layers of memories. I wanted to express the scenery of memories, which become ambiguous over time, as well as the “now” of the ancient city of Kyoto, which has over 1200 years of history.
